LUCKNOW: A woman scrolling through adult content online was shocked to find that a person in a video — dressed as a woman and engaged in explicit acts with another man — looked like her husband, a govt doctor posted in Sant Kabir Nagar district.
Lodging an FIR, the woman claimed that the videos, uploaded under a pseudonym, were hosted on paid adult platforms. She insisted that the man in the video, donning a wig and women's clothes and performing lewd acts, was her husband who had monetized adult content.
The complainant said that the decor and furniture visible in the videos matched the interiors of their official residence at the district jail complex in Khalilabad (Sant Kabir Nagar), where the couple previously lived. She claimed she herself selected the wallpaper, curtains, and furnishings seen in the footage, and claimed the house could have been used as a makeshift studio.
The woman alleged in the FIR that the situation turned violent when she confronted him at their home in Gorakhpur on May 18. Her father and brother confronted the doctor at his residence in Khalilabad after which a scuffle broke out which was captured in CCTV." He produced and monetised adult content while masquerading as a transgender performer," she said, also accusing her husband of infidelity, abuse, and mental harassment over the years, with prior complaints lodged at a police station in Gorakhpur.
Police have sealed off the doctor's govt accommodation, and the health department has formed a three-member inquiry panel.Superintendent of police, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sandeep Kumar Meena said that an FIR under charges of sections 115(2) (attempt to commit offences punishable), and 294 (obscene acts and songs in public) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been lodged against the doctor on the complaint of his wife.
The accused, however, denied the claims and filed a counter-complaint, asserting that the videos were made using deepfake technology. He alleged that a relative of his wife, a software engineer, could have created the manipulated content as part of a conspiracy to ruin his career and mental health. He claimed the domestic conflict was longstanding and said that he was harassed by his wife which led to his father's death.
While the doctor has not been suspended yet, a departmental inquiry is underway. A forensic examination of the videos is expected to determine their authenticity. Police are also investigating the allegations of domestic violence, AI manipulation, and cybercrime," chief medical officer Dr Ram Anuj Kannaujia said.
