Shobana reveals Amitabh Bachchan shouted at crew member for asking her to change behind a tree: 'He invited me to his caravan and stepped out for me'

Actor Shobana collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone in Nag Ashwin’s 'Kalki 2898 AD'. In a recent live session on Instagram, she spoke about Bachchan’s humility, which, she said, has remained unchanged over the years.

Shobana recalled an experience during a song shoot in Ahmedabad, where Bachchan’s response to a thoughtless comment by a crew member left a lasting impression on her. “Bachchan sir, from then to now, is the same — the most humble artiste I’ve worked with. Actually, some of the greatest artistes share one trait: humility,” she shared.



The 'Thudaraum' actress narrated an anecdote from the shoot. “I shot a small portion of a song with him many years ago in Ahmedabad, where I had loads of fabric wrapped around me. Bachchan sir had a caravan, and the entire city had come to a standstill because everyone had come to watch the shoot,” she recalled.

She then described how a dismissive remark about her changing space prompted a dignified intervention from the Sholay actor. “So I asked where my caravan was, as I had many costume changes. Someone remarked, ‘Ah, she’s from Malayalam cinema, they’re all very adjustable — she can change behind a tree.’ Bachchan sir heard this on the walkie-talkie, immediately came out, and asked, ‘Who said that?’ He then invited me to his caravan and stepped out to let me use it,” she stated.

The actress also recalled that during the shoot of Kalki 2898 AD, Amitabh Bachchan continued to show the same humility. Even while wearing heavy prosthetics, he would stand up to greet visitors on set, leaving everyone around him deeply impressed.
