Actor Ishan Mazumder is part of Mainak Bhaumik’s film Batshorik a genre-defying film that blends the chilling elements of horror with rich emotional depth where the actor is paired opposite Ritabhari Chakraborty. The film also stars Shatabdi Roy in a pivotal character.Ishan said, “Joining the team for this film was a dream come true. Mainak’s work has always inspired me, and getting that call felt surreal. This film has been an incredibly special journey,” he shares. At the heart of Batshorik is Nil — played by Ishan— a grounded, empathetic man in his late 30s who anchors his family with quiet strength and emotional intelligence. His wife, Bristi (Ritabhari), is an insightful and emotionally perceptive partner, often acting as Nil’s confidante. Their relationship reflects a calm, supportive dynamic, though Bristi occasionally worries that Nil sacrifices too much of himself. The emotional core of the story also rests on Nil’s bond with his elder sister Swapna Chatterjee (Shatabdi). Once fiercely independent, Swapna now leans heavily on Nil for reassurance and support, often calling on him in moments of vulnerability that reflect deeper personal unrest."While Batshorik is set within the framework of horror, it rises above genre conventions. The film is intelligently crafted and emotionally layered — a story of love, responsibility, and the unseen burdens we carry," informed Ishan.
