VARANASI: A man bit the genitals of a 'pakora' seller when he asked him to clear his payment in Singhachawar Chatti area under the Gadwar police station of Ballia district on Saturday evening.
Inspector Ratnesh Kumar Singh stated that the accused, identified as Akhilesh Yadav, was arrested on Sunday following a named FIR lodged against him by the victim's mother on the charges of voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult and criminal intimidation.
Mahendra, a resident of Peeriya under the Fefna police station, owns a sweets shop at Singhachawar Chatti. On Saturday evening, Yadav of Singhachawar Kala reached his shop to buy 'pakoras'.
After taking 'pakoras' when he started to leave the shop, Mahendra asked him to clear his payment.
At this, Yadav, who was in an inebriated state, started quarrelling with him. In a fit of rage, Yadav bit the shopkeeper's private parts and also cut it with a blade, causing him serious injuries.
Profusely bleeding, Mahendra was rushed to the district hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
