Star Singer, one of Malayalam television’s most celebrated music reality shows, continues to tug at heartstrings with remarkable performances. The latest to make waves is young contestant Krishna Sree, whose emotional performance of the iconic song ‘Rappadi Kezhunnuvo’ has left judges and viewers deeply moved.
A Class 11 student and one of the standout talents of the current season, Krishna Sree paid a heartfelt tribute to none other than Star Singer judge and legendary singer KS Chithra by choosing to perform one of her most beloved songs from the classic film Akashadoothu. Despite being an ardent admirer of Chithra, this marked the first time Krishna Sree rendered one of her songs on the show — and she did so with stunning emotional intensity.
The performance received immediate and overwhelming praise from the judging panel. KS Chithra, visibly moved, awarded Krishna Sree a perfect score of 100 and a golden star. In a light-hearted yet touching moment, Chithra remarked, “I’m not even sure if I gave this much expression when I originally sang the song.” She praised the young contestant for bringing such deep emotion to a song that has resonated with generations.
Mentor Kannur Shareef was equally touched, saying he couldn’t help but rise for a standing ovation. “Your singing had so much soul that I was unable to sit. It was overwhelming,” he said.
Krishna Sree has consistently impressed both judges and audiences, having secured the highest marks in the previous round as well.
Meanwhile, Star Singer has seen its first elimination round, with contestants Greeshma Kannan and Athish Krishna exiting the competition. However, the drama continues to build as wildcard entrants Gautham Prasad and Pavithra make their way into the show, promising more exciting performances in the episodes to come.
