The film occupies the No. 4 position of all-time highest opening day collections of Bollywood.

Having collected an estimated sum of Rs 29.78 crore on day one at the box-office, ‘Dangal’ sits strong at the second spot in the list of Aamir’s highest openers. Armed with a good story, great execution, good reviews and positive audience feedback, the film broke the lull that had taken over the ticket counters. Demonetisation was no match for this film as it also became the second highest opener of 2016, the first being Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’.
