Uday Pratap Singh, Ishani Chatterjee and Surabhi Mallick starrer ‘Parineeta’ to premiere on November 11

One of the leading channels of Bengali television is set to introduce yet another new serial to their roster. As per the current trend, the channel is refusing to let the monotony get the better of their content, as well as of their audience. The said channel is determined to cater a variety of contents for the viewers and their upcoming show is a proof of that. The new Bengali serial, ‘Parineeta’, is all set to premiere on Bengali TV on November 11.
Like most of the Bengali serials, ‘Parineeta’ also is slated to chart the course of a love-triangle with a male protagonist and two female protagonists. As per the promo, the story is set at the backdrop of a glammed up college campus which is bound to remind the audience of the Bollywood high schools and colleges created by Karan Johar in the Student of The Year universe. Shireen from Ballygunge is the most popular girl in the said college, who is always surrounded by boys who are trying to impress her. But, Shireen has her eyes set on none but Rayan, the handsome hunk of the college who rides an expensive sports bike. Shireen and Rayan cross paths with Parul, a girl from a relatively smaller town, determined to make her place in a big city like Kolkata. Shireen and Rayan and others in college make fun of Parul’s dialect. However, Parul is far from being bogged down by that. Instead, she shows her mettle.
Cut to a few years later, Parul and Rayan are seen as a married couple and Parul serves Rayan’s favourite food for him. However, Rayan refuses to eat and makes it clear that he is not happy in this marriage. Rayan tells Parul that, he has always hated her since the university days. Rayan’s family consoles a dejected Parul saying that hatred and love are just the two sides of the same coin. They assure her that one day Rayan’s hatred for her will turn into love.

How will Rayan and Parul navigate through their differences?
‘Parineeta’ is based on that story.
Despite its name, it does not seem that the upcoming Bengali serial will bear any resemblance to the legendary work in Bengali literature by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
‘Parineeta’ stars Uday Pratap Singh as the male lead of the show. Surabhi Mallick will be seen as Shireen, and newcomer Ishani Chatterjee will take on the role of Parul. The show is slated to go on-air from November 11, 7.00pm.
