Roman Reigns has beaten many, but fell short when it came to the real megastar of social media, The Great Khali.Roman Reigns has emerged to become WWE's marquee superstar of the modern era. However, before there was a Tribal Chief ruling the roost of the company, a towering presence was captivating the WWE Universe from India. He was none other than The Great Khali. While he is no longer an active competitor in the promotion, he has beaten their top star, Roman Reigns, in terms of followership on social media.A surprising statistic was recently highlighted on social media. Over the course of 13 years in WWE as an active performer, Roman Reigns' fame and popularity brought him close to 10 million followers on Instagram. On the other hand, The Great Khali, who garnered major attention for his social media antics over the last few years, surpassed The OTC.The former World Heavyweight Champion commands an impressive 11.6 million followers on Instagram. This meant that he beat the 1,316 day reigning Undisputed WWE Champion by close to 2 million followers on the social media platform, despite no longer wrestling. Khali has capitalized on his social media game, commanding a huge presence online which has taken him ahead of The Bloodline's most successful WWE star of the modern era. The Punjabi Playboy, although has made any WWE appearances for some years, but has been active in making other prominent public appearances.Roman Reigns' last televised WWE appearance came at the RAW after WrestleMania 41. He came down to the ring to exact revenge on his longtime rival and former Shield brother, Seth Rollins.
