A New York Yankees fan had a wild and painful ride after attempting to storm the field during the Yankees' 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium on Wednesday night. The fan, who wore an Aaron Judge jersey and a backward red cap, hopped over a fence and took an unsanctioned stroll through center field, drawing the attention of stadium security and the crowd. The fan, seemingly emboldened by the moment, filmed himself as he dashed across the grass. At one point, he nearly made contact with Los Angeles Angels’ star Cody Bellinger, though Bellinger appeared unbothered as the man sprinted past him.The chaotic chase continued as the fan made his way towards right field. His attempt to evade security took a dramatic turn when he tried to leap over a railing near the stands, clearly hoping to slip away from his pursuers. However, his escape attempt proved unsuccessful. A security guard, who had been chasing him, dove after the fan, tackling him back onto the field with force.
The takedown was swift and brutal. The fan was pinned to the outfield dirt as another security guard arrived to help subdue him. The dramatic scene attracted the attention of the crowd, with some cheering as the fan’s stunt came to an abrupt and painful end. As security worked to restrain him, two police officers arrived on the scene to take control of the situation.
The fan was ultimately escorted away from the field. It’s unclear if the fan was arrested or simply removed from the stadium, but his actions caused a temporary disruption during the game. As for the Yankees, they went on to seal a 1-0 victory, securing a series win over the Angels. The Yankees will stay in California for a three-game series against the Dodgers starting on Friday.
