When we look at our garden and see the wilting leaves, yellow plants, and falling twigs, it is a disappointment to see. But what if we tell you that instead of buying expensive products from the market, some kitchen ingredients can be used? Here we mention some of them.

Banana peel water

One of the easiest kitchen ingredients that will help your plants is Banana peel water. Keep 3-4 banana peels in a bottle filled with water, let it sit for 2 days, and then the water you will be left with will be a potassium rich one that will improve soil health.

Rice water

The water that is left after you wash rice, and when rice is semi-cooked, is filled with nutrients and can be really good for the soil. It has starch and nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus which improve plant roots and growth.

Eggshells

Except for the sacred plants, crushed eggshells can be added to others plants in the garden. How does it help? Well, eggshells are rich in calcium carbonate, which helps prevent rotting in fruits and veggies.

Perfect for your organic compost bin, potato peels break down to give your plants and soil nutrients like potassium and iron.

Green tea is slightly acidic and has tons of antioxidants. And if you pour in the tea leaves from used tea bags it will add extra nutrition to the soil. But make sure to not pour tea leaves that have sugar added to it.

Coffee grounds

Coffee grounds have nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, and these 3 helps in improving soil texture. In fact, adding dry coffee grounds to the compost bin will also help breakdown the other material and when poured onto the soil, helps in growth.

Salt, in moderation, is good for your plants, both indoor and outdoor. The magnesium in Epsom salt is good for plant growth, but should only be added by mixing it with water.
