Charlie Sheen has donated $10,000 to help his former baseball team. The former 'Two and a Half Men' actor showed his generous side for an event organised by best friend
Tony Todd, who says his pal was more than willing to hand over even more cash.
Tony said: "Charlie's donation of $10,000 means everything to me and to our baseball programme. He had wanted to offer more, but I said that is way too much.
This is the side of him that the media does not know about. He is always there trying to help others who are less fortunate."
Tony staging the Samohi Baseball Charity Poker and Auction event this Saturday (19.11.11) at the Moose Lodge in Santa Monica with proceeds going to Santa Monica High School's baseball programme- where Charlie once played - and he is hoping to attract a star-studded crowd.
Tony told RadarOnline.com: "As his best friend I have witnessed his generosity for many years. There will be a bunch of ex athletes and actors showing up to help the kids."
Joining Charlie at the event will be former athletes and actors including Christina DeRosa, Adam Rose, Tim Leary, Kenny Lofton and Derek Lee.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and cost $85.
