Graduation Ceremony Celebrated at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi
The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, celebrated the graduation of its Platinum Jubilee Batch of the MBA (Executive) and MBA (Health Care Administration) programs at the SP Jain Auditorium, South Campus. The event, jointly organized by Social on Social and A2Z Solutions, also marked 70 years of academic excellence at FMS, a leading business school in India.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Chief Guest Shri Amarendu Prakash, Chairman of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Prof. Anil Kumar, CEO of the Delhi University Foundation, and Mr. Kauser Khan, Vice President of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). Other dignitaries present included Prof. (Dr.) A. Venkat Raman, Head and Dean of FMS, and Prof. (Dr.) Harsh V. Verma, Program Director, MBA (Executive).
The event began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by Shri Amarendu Prakash, Prof. Venkat Raman, Prof. Anil Kumar, Prof. Harsh Verma, and Nishant Verma, a representative of the graduating MBA (Executive) batch. The ceremony was anchored by Ms. Vartika, a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in the BBC, NDTV, and the United Nations.
Addressing the graduates, Prof. Venkat Raman emphasized the importance of humility and giving back to society. “Be thankful to the taxpayers of this country. It is because of their contributions that FMS remains affordable at just ₹2 lakh, compared to the ₹20-30 lakh fees of other top institutions. Every year, strive to give back at least ₹1 lakh through your actions and help FMS create a meaningful impact in the lives of others,” he said. He also recounted an instance of an FMS alumnus, now a national leader, expressing gratitude to the institution for shaping his journey.
In his address, Shri Amarendu Prakash congratulated the graduates and their families. He highlighted the importance of curiosity, humility, and ethics in leadership. “The curiosity to learn and the humility to accept being ignorant shapes the continuous improvement phase in life. The graduates of this Platinum Jubilee Batch are poised to become torchbearers of excellence in their respective fields, embodying the values of FMS and leading the way to a brighter future,” he said.
Prof. Anil Kumar, speaking about the role of the Delhi University Foundation, underscored the significance of collaboration and innovation in management education. “MBA and FMS are both three powerful alphabets. Together, they turn three to the power of three, creating 27—the highest benchmark for management institutes across the nation,” he remarked.
During the event, graduation certificates were presented to the students of the MBA (Executive) and MBA (HCA) programs. The ceremony celebrated FMS's legacy of excellence and its impact on management education in India and beyond.
