GSTN online registration date extended till December 31

RAIPUR: Commercial tax department has extended the last date to avail registration number of Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) for traders in Chhattisgarh till December 31. For the convenience of traders to file the online registration process of GSTN number, Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is providing free registration at its help desk till December 31.
The last date for filing the GSTN registration earlier was December 10. However, CCCI members approached the department requesting extension of the date.
Talking to TOI, CCCI president Amar Parwani said, "Timely registration of GSTN number will bring about uniformity of all taxes in eco-system. I appeal the traders to apply for the application process at the earliest and avail the benefit. Moreover, the help desk at Raipur office of CCCI is also offering assistance for applying the GSTN free-of-cost. The help desk is backed-up with sales tax officials for the technical guidance for the applying GSTN procedure."
As per the information, after the deadline the registration process at official GSTN portal would be seized. On failing to register the GSTN number, traders may face interruptions in carrying their business as it would then affect the sales, transfer, barter, lease and import of services and goods.
The commercial tax number would be overruled and replaced with the GSTN number. The traders will be allotted user ID and password for accessing the GSTN number online. The CCCI's regional branches are providing free registration at Raipur, Durg, Bhilai, Rajnandgoan, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Ambikapur, Bilaspur, etc.
