Arunachal to be global tourism hub: CM Khandu
Itanagar: Chief minister Pema Khandu Wednesday outlined his vision for positioning Arunachal as a premier global tourism destination, highlighting the state’s unique natural beauty, cultural heritage and adventure opportunities.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 12th International Tourism Mart (ITM) in Assam’s Kaziranga, Khandu emphasised the event’s importance in strengthening the tourism ecosystem of the northeast by fostering connections among stakeholders, promoting partnerships and increasing the region’s visibility.
Khandu said such events promote unity and collaboration among the northeastern states, helping present the region as a cohesive travel destination.
Focusing on Arunachal, he explained that the state govt is prioritising sustainable and eco-friendly tourism, with plans to enhance infrastructure, improve connectivity and develop iconic treks, trails and festivals to attract both domestic and international tourists.

Sharma also urged officials to improve monuments and panoramas, suggesting they draw inspiration from sites in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
